There’s (basically) an app for that
Because the SNO FLEX theme offers a responsive design, your site's layout and look shifts to best fit the size screen it is being viewed on, whether that be a computer or a phone. But because tablets and phones are so popular these days we don’t stop there: We also offer the option for you to design an iPhone shortcut icon that will act like an app on your readers’ mobile devices. Interested? Simply design the icon by creating an image that is 128 pixels by 128 pixels. Then on the SNO Design Options page at the bottom of the Header section, you can upload the image under the iPhone/iPad Shortcut Icon heading. When a reader visits your site on a mobile device, they'll be prompted to add your new icon as a shortcut. The icon will then download to their device and look exactly like an app.
Change your favicon
Go to your website. Now look at the top of your browser window, near the URL. See that icon? It’s called a favicon. Is your site still sporting the little red circle with a white chevron? If so, consider changing your favicon to match your publication’s style, colors, and personality. The change is simple and can be done under General and Design Layout in the SNO Design Options page. Check out our design tools for a handy favicon generator here.

If we can make it there...
Next week, we're taking the SNO show on the road to New York to attend to the Columbia Press Association's fall convention. As an invited partner, SNO will feature a strand of sessions specifically for publications transitioning into the digital world. The five sessions will cover how to make the digital transition, to manage the publication, to report and produce content and to build your audience.
