Understanding Pages
Pages are suitable for static content such as publication policies, subscription information, etc. You can have as many pages and sub-pages on your site as you want, and links to these pages can easily be added to your navigation menu.
Adding a Page
- Click Add New under the Pages tab on the left navigation bar in the WordPress dashboard.
- Enter the title of the page as you’d like it to appear on your site.
- Enter the content of the page in the main text editing window. You may change to the Text tab and add HTML coding.
- In the right column, in the Page Attribute box, you can assign this page as a sub-page of another page, and you can also select a template for this page. The Full Width template will remove the non-home sidebar widget area and give you a larger area in which to construct your content, and the Default template will include the non-home sidebar widget area.
- Once your page is set up how you'd like, click Publish.
Adding a Photo to a Page
- Locate and click Add Media button above the main text editing window of the page.
- Click Choose files to Upload.
- A navigation window will open. Either find or upload the photo you want to put on the page.
- After selecting the picture, a window with fields will open on the right of the window. Fill out these fields as desired.
- Below the fields, select the size and alignment of the photo you’d like to add to your page.
- Click “Insert into Post” button.
- Click the Publish/Update button.
Adding a Page to a Menu
- Once the page is published on your site, to add it to your navigation bar, hover over SNO Dashboard in the upper left-hand corner of your dashboard and click on "Edit Navigation Menus."
- At the top of the page, above the right box, select which menu you would like to add your page to.
- Locate the new page in the list of pages in the left column. Select it, and click Add to Menu.
- You can then drag and drop the new page to the appropriate place in your menu.
- Click Save Menu.
