Is your staff working on U.S. or internationally focused coverage? Consider using a quantitative or qualitative map to complement your writing and supplement reader comprehension. This feature is available to any client that subscribes to the Site Booster Bundle.
Creating a Qualitative Map
- Click on “Add New Infographic” under the SNO Infographics tab on the left navigation bar in the WordPress dashboard.
- Select a chart type (USA or World Chart) and click “Continue.”
- Select the “Qualitative (word-based data)” option and click “Continue.”
- Enter an infographic title in the field at the top.
- Give your dataset a title in the “Dataset Title” field, and then proceed to enter your data. You can do this manually by entering values on a state-by-state or country-by-country basis, or expedite the process by clicking on the “Import CSV file” button and uploading a pre-formatted CSV file from your computer.
- If you have more than one dataset to include in your chart, click on “Add another dataset” near the top of the page and repeat step 5. *Note: It’s not possible to upload more than one CSV file within the chart building interface, so all subsequent datasets must be added manually.
- Scroll down to the “Infographic Preview” box to configure the appearance of your chart, including features like highlighting effects, overlay content, titles, legend descriptors, and colors.
- Click the “Publish” button to make your chart live.
Creating a Quantitative Map

Embedding a SNO Map Within a Story
- Create your chart.
- While adding/editing a story, place your cursor in the place you’d like the chart to go. Usually, it works best to press enter, giving the chart its own line in the text editing box.
- Click the SNO Add Story Element button above the text editing window.
- A pop-up window will give you all of the different options story elements, click the button for Infographic.
- Select the chart you would like to embed from the dropdown list, set the alignment, and click the “Insert” button in the right hand corner of the window.
- A line of short code will now show up in your story.
- Click Update/Publish and go to view the story to see how your infographic looks to a visitor.
Adding a SNO Map in a Widget
- Click on Widgets under the Appearance tab on the left navigation bar in the WordPress dashboard.
- Open the Widget Area where you would like to place the Infographic Widget (on the right side of the interface).
- Drag the SNO Infographic Widget from the left side of the page into the Widget Area.
- Set the configuration options for the Widget.
- Click Save.
