The Story Page Excellence badge is designed to encourage staffs to publish utilizing the different story templates that are available on SNO’s FLEX Pro theme. Additionally, staffs must submit a story containing and infobox and a story using the long-form story format.
These are the guidelines for the Story Page Excellence badge:
All content must be created by publication student staff members.
Submit six unique stories for this badge.
1. Elements beyond the story itself (pictures, videos, pull quotes, polls, etc.) promote/enhance a story’s content and prevent long blocks of text.
2. At least one story uses the infobox element, and the infobox contains at least four segments. The infobox must contain images/videos or have a design that has been customized beyond the default setting. The infobox must be placed in a story, not be a stand alone element. More information about that element can be found here.
3. At least one story is created as a long-form story with at least four segments. The piece tells a single, cohesive story. The long-form design tools are used intentionally to enhance the aesthetic of the page and must incorporate images within the segments and/or be customized beyond the default settings. More information on the long-form format can be found here.
4. The story pages have photos that display at a proper resolution and that do not appear to be oddly cropped or doubled (the same image showing up twice in a story). All photos are either original or attributed properly (no copyrighted images unless covered by fair use.)
5. Photos and videos or elements (such as graphics or illustrations) on the story pages are captioned and credited.
6. All stories have a featured image and byline.
