Adding a Countdown to your Site

SNO's tools let you add a countdown to your homepage, any widget area, or within a story or page. A countdown can help you build excitement for big events like graduation, prom, homecoming, or the next football rivalry. Whether it’s reminding students how little time is left to study or how soon they'll be free for summer, a ticking clock keeps everyone in the loop!

Creating a Countdown Using a Widget

You can create a countdown on your homepage or any widget area using the SNO countdown widget.

1. Go to the Widget Control Panel (Hover over Appearance -> Widgets).
2. Locate the SNO Countdown widget on the left side in the Available widgets.
3. Click and drag the SNO Countdown widget to the widget area you’d like it to appear and drop it there.
4. This will open the settings for the countdown. Set your countdown end date and fill in all of the other fields. Please note that all fields must be filled for the countdown to work properly.
5. Click the blue Save button in the upper right corner.

Creating a Countdown in a Story or Page

1. Open the story or page where you would like the countdown to appear.
2. Press Enter/Return to create a page break before your Countdown.
3. Click on the Add SNO Story Element button.
4. Choose Countdown.
5. Set your countdown end date and fill in all of the other fields. You must fill out all fields for your countdown to work properly.
6. Click the blue Insert button in the upper right corner.
